❤️ 🐾 C.J. Update 🐾 ❤️
As many of our Beach Paws Boutique visitors and Ask Dr. Caryn clients know, our sweet boy C.J. recently hit a major milestone. After 10 wonderful months of hard work, socialization, and lots of love here in Colonial Beach, C.J. officially transitioned to the next phase of his journey on September 11th.
🐾 ❤️ He entered the Service Dogs of Virginia inmate training program, which I have jokingly referred to as "being in jail" but it is actually more like "boarding school." He is currently living 24/7 with a dedicated handler, mastering the hyper-specific, advanced skills he will need to change someone's life as a graduate from Service Dogs of Virginia. CJ gets a weekend furlough a couple times each month when he lives with a SDV Volunteer closer to Charlottesville. Because correctional facilities keep a very quiet, secure routine, we won't have day-to-day updates or photos from them—but I remain in close contact with the amazing team at SDV and will share major milestones as he progresses!
🐾 ❤️ C.J. is the 16th puppy I’ve had the privilege to help raise since 2014. He holds a very special place in our hearts. Thank you all for loving him, helping socialize him in the shop, around Town, at local businesses, and cheering him on. He got the absolute best start because of this community!
