Maybe Next Week
On Monday, I've decided. I'm leaving. No one deserves to have to sort out the aftermath of cheating. No one should have to feel this way. I have options, I'm grabbing my stuff and going.
On Tuesday, the decision feels heavy. My kids have lives here. The neighbor boy knocks and asks my son to play. Moving means uprooting his life. That's so unfair. I should definitely stay until my oldest is a little older.
On Wednesday, I'm numb. I show up for my kids but that's all I have in me.
On Thursday, I see the positive changes he's made. He is keeping promises. He's trying. He takes a night with the baby.
On Friday, I watch all the kids play together. I feel content. I laugh. Maybe this is where I should be.
On Saturday, I am reminded that I was begging for help while he was cheating. I'm reminded that my feelings didn't matter at that time. I'm tangled in my head, trying to understand the why.
On Sunday, I cry. The weight of everything knocks the wind out of me. I don't want to make any decisions and I want to run away at the same time...
Tomorrow's Monday. I need to pack the school bags, the diaper bag and my work bag. I don't have time to think about this... Maybe next week.
