I’ve grown thousands of flowers over the last 3 years, and this year’s crop is the best yet, by far. We are just getting started with the blooms and after a brief lapse in our Spring crops that I intentionally created to boost the soil health, we are already seeing the benefits of that and it makes my little farmer heart so happy.

At some point in the next year, we will be expanding the farm, and applying everything I’ve learned to create a vibrant and cozy home for our future blooms. We’ll be inviting you out to discover the real world of flowers there, the kind you won’t find in the grocery store, so stay tuned! And don’t forget to hop onto the Flower Bud Newsletter to get notified of the big happenings first!šŸ’›

Have you ever wondered why they always say ā€œstop and smell the rosesā€ as you stuff your face into a vase of flowers you grabbed from the grocery store, and… nothing.

The issue boils down to the restrictions of mass production. Flower selections come down to the few that can pump out blooms, withstand packing, and endure stretches without water. To help them along, they’re covered in chemicals to prevent bug damage, reduce water needs, and retain color.

This leaves your kitchen table with stiff, almost artificial-looking, chemically and unscented ā€œflowersā€.

If you’re ready to enter the real world of flowers, find your local flower farmers. We grow blooms that won’t make it through transit (and that’s a good thing) which means more variety, more fragrance, more FEELING.

Dilly Dally Meadows serves Columbus Indiana, but if you’re from out of town, look for your local farmers. They’re out there šŸ’›

Cameron was out of town this weekend on a bachelor party trip. I missed him of course, but it’s nice to have space to yourself every now and then, no matter how much you love someone.

The house felt stagnate at times, but for the most part I was doing my normal weekend routine with the farm. Friday night was special though. I made simple syrup from our field sage, and dropped it off to some friends who will undoubtedly make something delicious with it. I also cut some of our first summer blooms for them, and we talked well past sundown together outside.

Saturday was full of farm tasks, and at the end of the day I sat between the rows of flowers, watching the passing clouds mix with the sunset. There’s something special about the lighting during a pop-up storm. The sky was painted in blues and lilacs, and the lightest rain fell for a short time. I’m not the biggest fan of the plastic w**d barrier we had to use this year, but there’s something to be said about the sound of raindrops tip-tapping away at it.

After a short while, a double rainbow mimicked the colors of the flowers around me, and to finish the night? I was surrounded by the dance of fireflies. And for all of the chaos of the world, I will come back to that moment in my mind for a while yet.

It’s the same feeling the flowers bring to me. The feeling I wanted to share when I started Dilly Dally Meadows. Every bouquet and arrangement that the flowers and make is to bring peace and life to your tables and help you to re-center yourself in all this crazy.

If you need some of that magic, our Flower Clubs are still open for sign-ups on our website. If you need more info, start with the ā€œClub Guideā€ page for all of the details. The flowers can’t wait to meet youšŸ’›

Sure, our flowers are beautiful, and they smell delicious, and they fuel the ecosystem. But have you experienced the tidal wave of release that goes through your body when you sit down with your vase of fresh blooms and just. Slow. Down. ?

It’s a special kind of feeling. Scientists have studied it, but you don’t have to read a hundred findings to know how quickly sitting with Earth can soothe your nervous system.

So don’t be afraid to Dilly Dally a while, and let our flowers help you re-center yourselfšŸ’›

This spring has been a struggle for me as a business owner and a farmer. Of course the weather has been *wacky, but the farm also looks drastically different from where we were a year ago. We were harvesting buckets and buckets of blooms from a much fuller field, but now, there are hardly and blooms to cut, and the plants we do have are in their earlier stages.

While the tulips kept me BUSY for a couple of weeks, things drastically slowed down after they left. I’ve been seeding and cultivating and fertilizing, but I’ve very much missed the beauty of our spring season crops and bringing them to your tables 😭.

I’m in this pickle for a good reason though. The winter was a time to address our soil health, so we decided to cover crop rather than sew flowers. And while there is a vacancy of color in the garden now, things like this lil baby firefly venturing through the garden remind me why it was so important.

It’s always for them. For Earth. For all of us

The 2026 Tulip season has been an absolute WHIRLWIND. Between the initial bulb loss, warm weather, and crazy short harvest window, I think I’m officially Tulip-ed out for the year. And at the same time, I can’t wait for the 2027 Tulip craziness!

Thank you endlessly to everyone that came out to visit us at markets and during First Thursday this April, and a super special thank you to our OG Tulip Club members!

We’ve got 3,800 bulbs coming our way this fall, so if you missed out on our first ever Tulip Club, keep an eye out for our second year sign-ups this Fall. Pro tip: 2026 Flower Club members get first dibs and Early Bird Pricing on ALL of our 2027 Club membership sign-ups. Just sayin šŸ˜‰

Take it from Lisa’s mom, our Fresh Flower Clubs are pretty great gifts šŸ˜‰. Don’t worry, there are still spaces left in our Summer and Autumn Clubs this year for you, your momma, and your grandma.

P.s. If you write me heartwarming thank-you notes, they WILL end up on my flower fridge, and I WILL stare at them when I need a pick-me-up. You’ve been warned.

Peony season is such a short and sweet time of the year, but boy do they put on a show!

Our peony patch is young now, but in a short few years we will be SWIMMING in peony blooms. We plan on starting the Dilly Dally Peony Club in 2028, but what I’m even more excited about?

Our first ever on-farm Peony Extravaganza! Is it too early to hype this up? Not in my book. Imagine a day full of rows and rows of spring blooms ready to cut yourself, with fresh peonies en-masse in the barn for alllll the pics. Local food trucks, family activities, and a professional photographer ready to capture your wonder.

The next night? Adults only will enjoy a more intimate experience with the Meadows. Locally curated picnic baskets, bubbly, and live music to enjoy with the beauty of Earth.

Give us some time, and we’ll give you something you won’t forget šŸ’›
