HAPPY NATIONAL PASTA DAY!

Is your sewing machine serving up spaghetti instead of stitches?

We've all been there! You sit down to sew, and suddenly your thread looks more like a plate of spaghetti than a beautiful seam!

If your stitches are looking a little too much like pasta, here are a few things to try:

1. Rethread Your Machine – Sometimes a fresh start is all it takes! Make sure your presser foot is raised when threading.

2. Check Your Tension – Incorrect thread tension can leave you with loops, tangles, and messy stitches.

3. Check Your Needle – Make sure you're using the correct needle for your fabric and that it's in good condition.

4. Clean Your Machine – Lint and thread buildup can interfere with smooth stitching.

5. Test Before You Sew – Always test your settings on a scrap piece of fabric before starting your project.

And here's an extra tip from Precision: If you're getting a big tangled mess of thread underneath your fabric, check your upper threading first!

Today's Topic: Why Is My Fabric Puckering?

Ever finish sewing a seam only to notice the fabric looks wrinkled, bunched up, or gathered when it should be smooth?

Fabric puckering is a common sewing frustration, but a few simple adjustments can make a big difference!

Here are 4 things to check:

1. Thread Tension – Tension that's too tight can cause fabric to pucker. Try testing your settings on a scrap piece of fabric.

2. Stitch Length – Stitches that are too short can contribute to puckering, especially on lightweight fabrics.

3. Don't Pull Your Fabric – Let your machine's feed dogs do the work! Pulling or pushing fabric can distort your stitches.

4. Needle, Thread & Stabilizer – Make sure you're using the right combination for your fabric. Some delicate or stretchy materials may need extra support.
