Five years ago today, I opened a cabinet to find snacks.
Instead, I found something that would change the direction of my life in every way - a hot sauce making kit.
The six bottles in the picture - which would eventually be called Picky Ricky - were my first ever attempt at making hot sauce. And you all know where it's lead.
It's impossible to imagine what my life would be like right now if that never happened. The places I've been, the events I've participated in, the sauces I've made, the lessons and the triumphs have been thrilling and terrifying. I have loved (almost) every minute of the journey.
But what I've enjoyed most - what it all comes back to - is the people I've met. The passionate business owner friends, our loving enthusiastic customers, my altruistic fellow Naturally Colorado board members, the store owners and market runners and warehouse staff and suppliers and vendors that make all of this possible.
These relationships aren't a a means to an end, a way to achieve any goal - they are the goal. I've built a life where I'm surrounded by creative, ambitious, smart, compassionate, loving, amazing people.
And that's everything to me. So, thank you all. Sincerely, truly, wholly.
