Shawne Randlett’s ‘Family Portrait’ is included in the current SAA window exhibit. This work is an 8x8” acrylic on panel . Shawne shares these comments about this work. “Anyone who knows me well knows that pumpkins and winter squash make me happy. I love growing them, displaying them, and cooking with them. This set of happy cousins posing for a formal painting against a classic dark background represents a quiet, quintessential New England fall to me.”

Her second submission to this show is titled ‘Turkish Delight (Guli's Pomegranates)’, an 8x8 acrylic. “My friend Guli traveled back to her native Turkey, where she snapped photos of the pomegranate trees there, which grow like apples do here, sweet, fragrant, and abundant. I loved painting this view of all the blushing fruit with their little crowns on their bottoms, hanging in a scarlet profusion among the leaves and branches.”

Happy fall!
