This past weekend, Hopscotch House hosted 36 young entrepreneurs, artists, makers, and bakers, during the Broadway Art Festival put on by Art This Way Fort Wayne.
✨IT-WAS-INCREDIBLE✨
These kids, ages 5-18, were so focused, so talented, and so charming. They will all certainly go on to do big things some day and I will be proud to say I knew them when 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I unfortunately became pretty sick right in the middle of the festival and wasn’t able to be my chipper self. It was killing me knowing that Broadway was having a real moment and I wasn’t up for the party 😩
Regardless, I can say that the kids market was an absolute hit! Each kids personality shined in their booth, each one unique, each one proud. I know that they will hold onto this memory fondly and I hope that I gives them the confidence to keep going in their craft!!!
As far as the Broadway Art Festival goes, MAN 🤩, you’d have to be there to believe it. Kinda hard to out into words really, but I do want to make sure I say a huge THANK YOU to Art This Way Fort Wayne Downtown Fort Wayne and our kids market sponsors, Old Mill Arboretum and Wendy Stein. What an absolute honor it was to be part of something so epic 😻

I love my job 💕💕💕

I get to meet so many great people and cool kids. It’s such an honor to have a shop like this and be able to add something to amazing events like the one coming up.

I’m sure you know by now, but the Art This Way Fort Wayne BROADWAY ART FESTIVAL is this Friday and Saturday. (10/2-10/3) And our contribution to it is the CREATIVE KIDS MARKET.

There are three shifts for the kids market: Friday 5-7, Saturday 10-1 and 3-7.

Abi here (seen in post) is a doll. I just adore her 😻 First of all, she hand delivered a hand written letter to me to submit her interest in being a kid vendor. Let’s just be honest, she had me at that. But, she’s also brilliant in that she’s offering fidget and squishy for sale and for TRADE 🤩🤩🤩

So if you remember anything at all, it’s to BRING YOUR FIDGETS AND SQUISHIES FOR TRADING and stop by Abi’s booth on Saturday from 3-7pm.

✨ Kids Market Preview ✨
This is just one example of what to expect at the upcoming kids market, Oct 2nd - 3rd. These kids have so much talent…I’ve been inspired to say the least 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Just as a recap, the kids market is part of the Broadway Art Festival (swipe for flyers). This is a two day festival that Art This Way Fort Wayne is organizing to celebrate their 10yr anniversary. The festival itself is going to be EPIC. They’re closing Broadway for two days, hosting 60 artist booths, a main stage featuring 11 musical acts, there are murals, DJ’s, dancers, buskers, a silent disco, a fashion show, kids activities, food, drinks and A KIDS MARKET 🎉🎉🎉

👉🏼This festival is Oct 2nd 5p-11:30p and Oct 3rd 9a-11:30p

The kids market portion will be located under a shared 40 foot tent located on Brackenridge St (right along side of Hopscotch House). There will be 36 kid artists/makers in total split up into 3 selling shifts. The sell shifts are as follows:

👉🏼Oct. 2nd 5p-7p
👉🏼Oct. 3rd 10a-1p
👉🏼Oct. 3rd 3p-7p

Please come out and support these little entrepreneurs. It’s moments like these that can really encourage them to keep going in their craft and teaches them so many valuable life skills. These kids are our future so let’s show them we are here for it 💕💕💕💕

Calling all makers, bakers, designers and artists! I am so excited to announce The Hopscotch House Kids Market, Oct.2nd-3rd. This event is for school aged children (approx 5 - 18 yrs old) and will take place during the first ever BROADWAY ARTS DISTRICT ART FESTIVAL. We will start accepting booth requests this Friday, July 10th and will make decisions on Friday, July 31st.

There is no fee to participate, but your child will be responsible for set up/tear down, selling and customer interaction and someone must be present at the booth at all times. Spaces will be wrapped around the toy shop and are limited! I will be choosing participants based primarily on creativity, trying not to duplicate and choosing a variety of ages/skill sets.
