An Enchanted Fate

Books & Jewelry inspired by fable and fate est. 2013 I create and rebind books into specialty leatherbound collector heirlooms.

I also craft journals, book wallets and tablet covers to have the old world look and feel of a book. Finding inspiration from cult classics like The Princess Bride, Labyrinth, The Neverending Story, I mostly focus on the fantasy/supernatural/magical. I also recycle books discarded from libraries, and use pages and give them a new fate and turn them into little book jewelry.

Last remnants of summer as she fades to autumn. Here are a few photos of the mermaid’s (or Selkie, or Siren!) treasure wax seal necklace I took with me (as a gift to my sister) for her planning our Caribbean Disney family cruise! I also brought with me one of the new wax seal rings that features an open Spellbook! I enjoyed spending some quality time with my daughter, lots of swimming/shelling, (yes, I did get burnt!) lots of great food, lots of great memories! Also really cool watching the heat lightning (last slide!) A few of these things, as well as the cherished cat Sith wax seal (and more) will be coming with me to the Bats and Black Cats Fair on September 19 & 20! Spencer Fairgrounds, Spencer, Ma! There are going to be lots of great vendors! Come celebrate the coming of autumn with us!

I am so behind on things I’ve wanted to share! I actually made a post weeks ago, that glitched when I went to post it and it just made me not want to try rewriting/editing it all again. 🫠 But here’s some things to catch up! My daughter and I just got back from a trip and a few weeks before that, if you saw my stories, you saw our newest rescues! Fun fact: the shadow behind each text has the color of their eyes!

Meet our new rescues (and our crone cat Artemis!)
Selkie the Siamese mix, the youngest one, named after the Celtic myth of selkies, seals who could shapeshift into women, and one of my daughter’s favorite movie, Song of the Sea. When I told her how perfect that was, because she is a “seal-point”, she was even more sure of that being the perfect name!
Willow is a tortoiseshell, a year and 3 months old.
Calcifer, (he’ll be 2 in November) the bicolor with a fluffy tail, named after the fire demon in Howl’s Moving Castle, another of my daughter’s favorite movies (and mine!)
And Artemis who is our crone cat, she just turned 14 and is named after the goddess of the moon. We will have had her 14 years in November!
Edited to add: We also rescued a spirit cat a few days ago, but she’s been in hiding, so I have no good pictures of her yet. Her name is Echinacea, she’s all black with a little spot of white on her chest.

My next event is tomorrow/this weekend! Wyrdlands Caravan LLC. The Summer Althing is a Norse/medieval theater and market! I’ll be in Aegir’s Hall (where the mead will be!) in the woods at Taber Creek in Union, Ct. 11-7 June 27 & 28! If you missed me at the Salem Ren Faire, come on out and immerse yourself in the magic of this weekend!

A quick little video of the dos-à-dos medieval blank spellbook I finished over the weekend! The dos-à-dos binding, French for “back to back” back, can be traced back to medieval times! Usually bound in leather (like this one!) 2 books are bound back to back, sharing one cover (in between them). I first saw this type of binding in Practical Magic, when Sally gets the ancient Spellbook, and flips it over to reveal a thinner book bound to the back looking for the spell to bring back her husband. (When she’s begging the aunts to bring him back, it makes me cry every time.) So far, this is the only one of its kind made for the but I will have other blank unique spellbooks, books, bags and jewelry as well! Look for my purple tent this Saturday, June 13, 11-7!

“I shall always be with you.”
Since I’ve gotten a bunch of new followers here (Hi!) I figured I would do a post on one of my most treasured works of art that holds the most meaning to me. The Cat Sith (cat fairy) wax seal. It’s been 2 years (how??) today since we lost Princess of the Night. My main studio cat, my shadow, my soul, my main cat model (Binx, Salem, the black cat from Practical Magic) my little love. Swipe to see more of the ring, photos of her, and us on my last birthday. The first Halloween without Princess, I wanted to honor her memory and was very inspired by the Celtic myth of the cat Sith. A black cat that could traverse realms and carry messages (how absolutely perfect for a wax seal!) Once I painted the pumpkin, I wanted a more permanent memento of her memory, and thought other cat lovers out there might want one too. Hence the cat Sith wax seal was created. I carved the cat with fairy wings out of regular clay, made a mold to cast from, and used that for the silver clay, and stamped the base with a wax seal stamp and fired them to become fine silver.
Here are some recent photos of the ring version of the wax seal, along with one of the celestial moon & stars rings. I will have one pendant and one ring of the cat Sith seal-not finished yet, comment your ring sizes! And 2 rings and 2 pendants of the moon & stars! June 13, 11-7

A new offering I haven’t made yet this year! Winifred Sanderson’s Book of Spells (movie novelization)! Handstitched real leather, working hinge clasp and full color illustrations (both full page and small illustrations throughout!) And less than 2 weeks for your chance to get your hands on Winifred’s BoOok in Salem!

June 13, 11-7!

As of right now, I will have one, but I may be able to finish another before the faire. This book, a few other cult classic favorites, spellbooks, silver wax seal jewelry and more bookish wares will be found in my purple tent!

Asparagus & Flower Festival 2026 was just so amazing! I had the ✨BEST✨ visitors and we had the best weather! These things really make me the happiest, absolutely in my element! I loved talking about the alchemy of my art (because it really is like magic!) books, and had great visits with my best friend, friends from elementary school, high school, college and library patrons who became friends! Special thanks to my mom and daughter helping with set up/break down, and keeping me nourished with all things asparagus! And thanks to my sister bringing Autumn and her friend around the fair! There were so many great vendors, but I didn’t get the chance to shop! The only two things I took with me was a grow your salad planter and strawberry wine (vendor neighbors!)
