Last year at this time, we started a Food Drive for nose folks who were losing their Snap Benefits, and anyone else in need. We saw that the need was much greater than anticipated, so we turned a part of our shops (both locations) into a full time Food Pantry. We had intentions of opening a Free Store in a larger space that we already have, but it (the work and the costs) just became overwhelming so we began adding clothing and other household items into the Food Pantry creating a Free Pantry. We still have dreams of opening a Free Store in a larger space that is not in the middle of our shop, but in order to do that, we will require financial help. At this time, we cannot afford to keep the space where this would go and it is causing financial hardships for the shop in general. Losing the space where the Free Store would be put, also means losing the space where we do our indoor community events, and classes. If we can count on our community for small (or large) donations, we can continue with our plans. I, personally, will continue doing the extra work that I've been doing to bring in extra money toward this goal, but if you are able to donate funds, please consider doing so. If not, please share this fundraiser so that more folks can see it. We know that things are tight all over, thank you in advance!
