TNC merch giveaway time!

Hello! We are doing a giveaway! If you come into the store today, Friday, February 6th, through Thursday, February 12th, you can be entered into a drawing to win a hand embroidered TNC shirt. You can enter multiple times but only once per day. So, if you come in each day now through 2/12, you can technically enter up to seven times.

I thought about selling them but they take so long to do I thought a giveaway maybe makes more sense. I have no idea if/when we will be making more because though embroidery is fun and looks cool in my opinion, it takes a long time. We only have four shirts so we will have only four winners. See the pic below to see what they looked like a few days ago. In that picture, three of the four are unfinished. The bottom one is finished and is a good example of how much embroidery you can expect of all four, though they are obviously in different colorways. To enter, ask at the front counter! Purchase is not necessary to enter BUT we would be very happy if you bought a book or two :)

The Godfather's Carlo Rizzi Coming to TNC!

The mobster-turned-actor who played Carlo Rizzi in the iconic 1972 film, The Godfather, will be at The Next Chapter on Tuesday, December 9th at 7pm to speak about and sign copies of his new tell-all memoir, Mafia Secrets. Gianni Russo is a real-life former mobster and actor whose book reflects on how he came to know secrets about "many of the twentieth century's most notorious crimes: the murders of Marilyn Monroe, Jack Kennedy, [JFK] Bobby Kennedy, Jimmy Hoffa, and Pope John Paul I." You should have heard some of the things he told us in our prep call yesterday. Let the squeamish beware... in the beginning of the book Russo mentions, amongst other things, the time when he, at 12 years old, murdered a pe*****le with a sharpened broomstick. Trust me, if any of the above sounds interesting to you, you don't want to miss this event.

About the book: Mafia Secrets is Russo’s engaging and incredible life story, beginning with a history of Italian organized crime–and his discovery that his Sicilian family had a long relationship with the Gambinos, and their cousins, the Castellanos.
