💫 It's Festival Friday! 💫
Among the cigar box guitars played by headliner Grammy-winner Gary Nichols at this year's World's Longest-Running Cigar Box Guitar Festival - Huntsville, Alabama was a special CBG Jeff built with a FAME Recording Studios & Publishing Co. theme.

🎶Recently we were able to present this CBG to Rodney Hall, FAME's president, to add to the studio's instrument collection. In its 60+ year history, FAME has been involved in recording or publishing records that have sold over 400 million copies worldwide, including with some of the greatest artists in music, such as Aretha Franklin, Little Richard, Etta James, Otis Redding, The Gregg Allman Band, Alicia Keys, Demi Lovato, Keb Mo, and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. To learn about its rich history, take a guided tours of the studio or check out the documentary, "Muscle Shoals," on AppleTV, Netflix or AmazonPrime.

🎶We are thrilled to be bringing back Gary Nichols and The FAME Gang, a collection of the finest session musicians at FAME for next year's event. Save the date: June 4-6, 2027 and sign up for updates at CigarBoxGuitarFestival.com

💫 It's Festival Friday! 💫
Today we highlight one of the beneficiaries of the funds raised at the World's Longest-Running Cigar Box Guitar Festival - Huntsville, Alabama, the Microwave Dave Music Education Foundation and its flagship program Concerts in the Classroom. Music Educator Miss Calliope recently visited the The Montessori School of Huntsville to share her original music that teaches students math and science principles. The Foundation exists because a group of volunteers were inspired by Microwave Dave's decades bringing music into classrooms as a volunteer and they formed a non-profit to work with educators and musicians to develop lesson plans that pair music presentations with academic standards.

New cigar box guitar alert! This fret board was inspired by the koi at Big Spring Park in downtown Huntsville. Big Spring Park is home to many events including Jazz in the Park- Huntsville, which has its final concert of the year this Sunday. Next time you visit Big Park Park, take a close look for the power boxes sprinkled throughout the park and be inspired by the wisdom of Mae Jemison, the first African American woman in space. Find them all using this handy map from our friends at Downtown Huntsville, Inc. https://www.downtownhuntsville.org/satmaejemison
