🏠Habitat for Humanity Progressive Dinner – Downtown Independence!

Tonight, The Brick Kitchen was honored to be Stop #6 of 8 on the Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity Sip & Bites!

We put our own spin on the martini with our Mash-Tini! Think martini glass, but make it mashed potatoes! We made Garlic Parmesan Mashed Potatoes, featuring Olivelle caramelized garlic-infused olive oil and roasted garlic sea salt, half & half, and fresh grated parmesan then loaded them up with all the fixings—fresh chives, bacon bits, sour cream and more! And instead of an olive, we topped it with a coffee-rubbed sirloin steak skewer. Basically, it was a savory martini you could eat!

We also served our Spooky Ginger Fizz Mocktail, featuring Spooky Sweet & Sour, Woodford Reserve Orange Bitters, and ginger ale for a refreshing little fizz.

We loved welcoming everyone into The Brick Kitchen, sharing creative food and drinks, and most of all, being part of an evening supporting Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity and building a stronger community right here in Independence.

Dolly Parton’s gifts have touched generations—from her music and songwriting to her incredible heart, humor, and kindness. But among her many talents was something especially close to home: the love and skill she brought to the kitchen, learned from her mama. ❤️

So many of Dolly’s talents were rooted in the lessons, love, and traditions passed down from her mother and family. She was a beautiful and unapologetic person who never forgot where she came from.

Thank you, Dolly, for sharing so much of yourself with the world!
