Back in my younger years... Fresh out of college, teaching middle school (I was the In-School Suspension lady!)... I picked up an extra gig as our school's football coordinator. (Don't be too amazed...it was for 7th grade intramurals...and while I did coordinate the football teams, coaches, and games, one of my biggest jobs was to manage approximately 60 7th grade boys after school until practice. We had study hall for an hour and a half. Me and 60 7th graders. And they got a lot of work done!

Anyway...I was pretty into football in those days... Even went on a few high school scouting trips...and knew the positions, players, and plays on the field.

Fast forward about 30 years... I haven't really watched an NFL game in...years. I'm usually busy searching for, digging up, cleaning, and researching old stuff for y'all. But last night I sat with Scott, Peyton, Will, Micky, Courtney, and Tonika... Doing our fantasy football draft. I picked my first three guys based on how weird their names were. I feel *really* good about them. I had heard of at least two of my other guys, so... I feel like that could be a good sign. Or it could mean they have been in the news for something besides football.

Anyway... I'll be back in my zone in the shops today. Since the Marble Hill shop was sacked on Saturday, I'm putting some pressure on it...calling an audible and tackling some big trades. 😉 I'm predicting it'll be ready for kick-off by Wednesday's opening day!!

My goodness... What a week we had together last week! It was so good to be back with y'all after a week away...

And y'all showed up and made the week so memorable!

What a delight to meet Ms Vicki (for the second time)... She remembers growing up using her mother's dishes Franciscan Desert Rose dishes and loving them. They were given away some time ago and she has wanted her own set for years since. Lo and behold... She ran across the post of the set we brought in on Wednesday and couldn't get to the shop fast enough on Thursday morning!! Those "reunions" are the BEST... and I know those dishes are going to be well cared for and loved in their Newfound home!

Rita shot me a reminder text that she wanted a clear class dish for a dried flower from a dear friend's funeral arrangement. We had exactly what she was looking for and it's now serving a very sweet Newfound purpose.

An entire bus load of ladies dropped in from St Louis on Saturday and even though I only caught one name, I'm pretty sure we're all Newfound besties. (Maybe they'll let me go on their next trip! 🤩) They shopped and laughed and we swapped stories and made sure they found all the local Uptown shops before they headed out for their other planned stops.

And...kinda funny... Scott and I have been chatting the past couple of weeks about how furniture has just not been moving lately. I retagged all of the pieces in Marble Hill with larger tags to be sure it was clear that they're not just for display... And started rearranging a little on Friday. On Saturday, Scott called me about an hour and a half into the day and said, "your store has been decimated." 😳 What he meant was... We had a RUN on furniture! A corner curio, desk, two tables, and a dresser went out to Newfound homes!! 🎉 (Guess what I'll be doing on Tuesday?!)

There were so many other lovely people and stories and connections made. Y'all are fantastic and I appreciate each of you for making us a part of your week! Come see us again soon! 😊
