In just a few short days, Birds of a Feather by Christine Beals Christine A Beals & Michelle Detering Michelle Detering will come to a close. Lining up the end of this exhibition with migration season was pure coincidence, but we’re far from the type to scoff at art imitating life.

Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy these works and support the artists!

For news about our next exhibition and our plans for the holiday season, be sure to give us a follow. See you soon!

There’s only one week left of our current exhibition, Birds of a Feather by Christine Beals Christine A Beals & Michelle Detering Michelle Detering .

One of our favorite things about this exhibition has been the chance to study each artist's unique approach to a shared subject in two separate mediums. If you haven’t had the chance to enjoy these works in person, stop into the gallery before October 31! 🪶

In order of appearance:
"Hummingbird with Flower" by C. Beals - SOLD
"Hummingbird No. 15" by M. Detering - SOLD
"Crow on a Fence Post" by M. Detering - $380
"Crow Totem" by C. Beals - $195

Commence Spooky Season 2026. 🎃

Artist Ai Yamamoto recently brought in this ceramic Cat-o-Latern, and it’s safe to say we’re obsessed. If you’re on the hunt for new Halloween decor this year, give yourself permission to invest in artwork that will remain beautiful season after season.

We’ve got several new pieces in right now that fit this theme, so come by and check them out!

Happy Plaidurday from Nelson Gallery and friends! Join us next year - same time, same place, same plaid. ❤

09/30/2026

When we realized that 517 Living Community Week 2026 and Plaidurday intersected, we knew what we had to do.

Our submission to the 517 festivities is Nelson Gallery’s very own Plaidurday celebration this Friday, October 2nd! In the classic Bugsy Sailor tradition, we’ll be donning our best plaid apparel and gathering for a group photo at the gallery around 5:30pm. For anyone interested in shopping the gallery during our celebration, we made sure even our wrapping materials are on theme. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating this Lansing-made tradition that’s gone worldwide!
