While we continue to develop the 8HP ecosystem on the NC for use with the STOCK ECU, the concern came up “How do I know what gear I’m in?”. It was something that we hadn’t even considered. Our shop car is equipped with a Haltech Nexus and an IC7 display and it covers these features. But the stock ECU? We didn’t have a great option… until now. Early stages of testing but check this bad boy out! Trans temp, shift light, throttle position, input and output shaft speed, shift time, drive mode and of course, gear indicator!

This was a treat. NC3, with a Fab9 GT Turbo system - incredibly clean with only 18k miles on it. This is near the limit of where we configure NC2/3 platforms. With waste-gate pressure only, preloaded to 11psi, you’ll see the onset is still wildly strong but we avoid the dangerous spike in torque that way. https://fab9tuning.com/fab9tuning-gt-turbo-kit-nc-06-15/

NEW REVISION — NA/NB 1.8L TURBO MANIFOLD

Our tubular stainless manifold for the NA/NB Miata 1.8L just got a major update.

Previously, this setup was designed exclusively around the BorgWarner EFR series. With EFR availability becoming increasingly difficult—and pricing continuing to climb—we saw an opportunity to open things up.

The latest revision now supports the Garrett G-Series and Pulsar V-band inlet/outlet turbo form factor, giving us access to a much broader range of modern turbo options at a seriously attractive price point.

Same Fab9 tubular stainless construction. More turbo choices. Better availability. And a combination we’re expecting to make a LOT of power without an outrageous price tag.

Our Fab9 GT Turbo Kit was never designed for this but Mr. Kyle didn’t seem to care.

He strapped a GTX30R onto his Fab9 Scalpel 2.4L and quickly laid down an impressive 424 WHP at 20 PSI on Flex Fuel with plenty of RPM left in the rotating assembly.

Another 2.4L Scalpel conversion proves that a straightforward rotating assembly can deliver excellent results. This build only fell short in compression as the owner MIGHT entertain a turbo setup down the road. At 12.5:1 compression we are really pleased with these results.

Built with superior-to-stock reliability in mind, this naturally aspirated setup produced 216 WHP and 182 lb-ft of torque. The owner can absolutely THRASH this engine on track.

The ND2 fueling limitation days have just about come to an end. This generation release is still an incredibly complex platform to fuel and calibrate - but to get to this point reliably and repeatably is a feat of countless hands on hours. Suddenly, a Fab9 EFR Turbo equipped car appeared, with something to prove.. Some builds aren’t finished in a weekend, they’re built over years.

Brett has been with us through multiple stages of his NC’s evolution, taking the car from a fun project to an incredibly serious street machine. Every wave has been another step forward, refining the combination until everything worked together exactly as intended.
