The Rosa Goddard International Film Festival returns! Join us on Wednesday nights at the Kentucky Theatre, starting September 16th. Tickets cost $6.50 and the films show at 7PM -- we'll also have a free drawing for prizes!

SEPTEMBER 16 - THE PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC (France, 1928, dir. Carl Theodor Dreyer)
Based on the actual record of the trial of Joan of Arc, this arresting avant-garde silent film is considered one of the best films ever made, renowned for its modernist set design and use of odd angles and extreme close-up shots.

SEPTEMBER 23 – IDA (Poland, 2013, dir. Paweł Pawlikowski)
In this quiet and captivating look at 1960s Poland, a young novice is sent from the convent to trace her family's story. As she unravels the mystery of her parents' history and disappearance, her identity and faith also seemingly begin to fray.

SEPTEMBER 30 - WINGS OF DESIRE (Germany, 1987, dir. Wim Wenders)
Partially inspired by the poetry of Rilke and the statues and architecture of Berlin, this story follows two angels as they observe and record the events of men, until one falls in love with a beautiful trapeze artist... This gorgeous film is a love letter to not only the city but to humanity itself.

Tickets are available at The Kentucky Theatre, either on their website or at the box office. We'll see you there! 🎬
