Cited as a must see in the New York Times travel section, the Paper Moon is a one of a kind book and gift store located in McGregor, Iowa-just one block from the Mississippi River! The historic 1860’s building proudly went green with solar heat in 2009.

​The Paper Moon has been described as “the ultimate in therapy shopping.” The ground floor hosts a unique array of gifts, including beautiful jew

elry, a hand-picked line of cards and postcards, toiletries, household accessories, and tons of bizarre and fun stuff! The second level balcony holds new books in a comfortable and charming atmosphere; the third level is 1,000 square feet of children’s books and toys. Inventory is in constant flux and Louise and Jennifer work hard to make sure the store has something for everyone.

​Customer service is very important to staff members at the Paper Moon. They can help with personalized shopping, free gift wrapping, gift certificates, and free delivery in Prairie du Chien, McGregor, and Marquette. Stop by and visit!

Is this your message? What would you want to say that you’ve been repressing? The cards are giving away your secret today. You absolutely 100% know your worth but you get stuck in your head and the load you carry is often too much. Deep down you fret that things won’t work out, whatever it is for your own story. The advice from the universe? Hold tight because someone out there sees you as a soulmate, perhaps platonically, romantically, maybe even professionally. Keep thinking that, yes, . If you are looking to align with someone, the energy is clearly in the air. I learned from that whenever you receive a card with someone wearing polka dots like in the universe wants you to not take things so seriously. Seriously! We adored the Driftless Realm Renaissance Festival hosted by The Left Bank Shop & Gallery & The McGregor Project ,and organized by the one and only Camille Sweet- thank you for a truly fantastic event!

The two days were full of magic, cheer, and whimsy✨🧚‍♀️ A delightful showcase of joy and good spirits for the whole community to enjoy! The costumes were incredible, we absolutely delighted in them 😍

Here’s to hoping this is the first of many annual events of its kind amongst the backdrop of historical McGregor 🫶

As the day comes to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on how we showed up today. Every day is a choice. Did you rush in, your sword swinging? Or did you pull back your energy and protect yourself? Both actions are valid for certain situations. Knowing how to act and react, now that is the challenge. Beneath your feet, you have the and he’s here to ground you and protect your precious resources because at the heart of today, you may have experienced a lot of hardship and frustration. Maybe even some betrayals and the worst betrayals are the ones you do to yourself. So and know the end of this present predicament is coming to an end. This is a because sometimes it’s good to just be still and share and reflect and encourage each other. Thank you for joining us for We are proud of however you showed up today because you showed up. Words can’t express how excited we were when Jordan and Dan walked through the door!! these two have been doing the Iowa Indie Bookstore Tour the past 3 years! Their kindness, amazing energy and wonderful smiles, always brighten our day when we see them!! and this year they brought friends with them! And one of the friends was Emily Hyde who owns Prints Copy Center who generously donated the passports and stickers and bingo cards for this year’s tour!!! thank you so much for the visit, and for our yearly photo, and just for being awesome human beings❤️❤️❤️ we can’t wait for your next visit and it better not be a whole year away😜
