Author's Note is thrilled to welcome Newbery Medalist LINDA SUE PARK and New York Times besselling author GORDON KORMAN on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:30 pm for a special double-hitter event in conversation together at Author’s Note to discuss and sign copies of their new books, Just One Gift and Hypergifted.

Linda Sue Park, a renowned author of numerous picture books and novels for young readers, won the 2002 Newbery Medal winner for A Single Shard. In addition to writing essays for numerous publications, Linda Sue has served as a panelist for the National Book Award, the Kirkus Prize, the PEN Naylor grant, and the SCBWI Golden Kite Award.

Gordon Korman is the #1 NY Times bestselling author of more than 100 books for kids and young adults, most recently HYPERGIFTED and SNOOP. His writing career began at the age of twelve when his seventh grade English assignment became his first published novel. Now, nearly fifty years later, he is a full-time writer and speaker, with over forty million copies of his novels in print in thirty-three languages. A native of Ontario, Canada, he lives with his family on Long Island.

Join us in celebrating Independent Bookstore Day at Author’s Note this Saturday, April 25th!

We’ll have four visiting authors:
✨ 10:30am-12pm: D. Allen, a.k.a. David Neth, author of heartfelt small-town romance, including his newest novel, This Time Around, a slow-burn, second-chance romance full of sharp banter, soft moments, and the one who almost got away—set in Fairport!
✨ 12pm-1:30pm: Children’s author Kate Hosford, signing her newest title, You and I are Stars And Night, which celebrates the love between children and their caregivers through a magical bedtime adventure. She’ll also have an event at Author’s Note on Friday, April 24th at 5pm.
✨ 1:30pm to 3pm: Edward Ashton, author of speculative fiction novels including Mickey 7 (now a movie!), Antimatter Blues, Mal Goes to War, The Fourth Consort, and his newest After the Fall, part alien invasion story, part buddy comedy, and part workplace satire.
✨ 3pm-4:30pm: Local author Wendi Pencille and her therapy dog, Crush, will sign her new board book, Crush Finds His Place, inspired by their work with children and adults with special needs.

We’ll also have a scavenger hunt for the Libro.fm GOLDEN TICKET, which will be hidden somewhere inside the bookstore this Saturday. Whoever finds it will win 12 free audiobook credits from Libro.fm! 🎫🎧

​Kate Hosford is the author of seven picture books, garnering awards such as an American Library Association Notable Book, a Bank Street Best Book of the Year, a Junior Library Guild Selection, and a New York Times Best Illustrated Book. Her books have been published in eight languages. She is a graduate of Amherst College and Vermont College of Fine Arts where she earned her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults. Kate lives in Brooklyn with her family.
