I like using a ruler when I’m starting with a straight edge on my pleats whether it’s on a wine bottle or box.

Wrap as normal, leave one side longer so you can wrap a ribbon in it to use as a handle.

After several years of building Avenue Wrapping, I’m at an interesting crossroads. I’m exploring what the next chapter of Avenue Wrapping could look like, and I’m open to the possibility that the right person might be out there who could take what I’ve built and grow it in ways I haven’t had the capacity to. Avenue Wrapping isn’t closing. I’m simply opening myself up to conversations and possibilities.

I felt this deserved a place on the grid because 6 small businesses, including mine, had a hand in making this something special. This soon to be grandmother wanted me to use this bag as her gift basket; it’s filled with precious outfits for the new baby. All three of these are pretty but pretty doesn’t necessarily mean right for the package. You want to match the feel of the paper and this feels soft and light. Also, the kimono pleats add a little bit of interest so you don’t want to detract from that. The single flower is definitely soft and light but it’s too big and steals the spotlight from the pleats. The felted topper is darling but the felt flowers feel too heavy and a bit too dark for the soft blush paper.

One of those folds that looks more complicated than it actually is.
