Followers, likes, and views can help your business get noticed. But visibility doesn’t always mean sales.

Sometimes we get so focused on growing on social media that we overlook other opportunities: a referral that brings in a new customer, a strategic partnership, an event, a marketplace, or a company interested in what we offer.

Social media can be part of your strategy. It doesn’t have to be your entire strategy.
Before stressing over a Reel that didn’t get enough views, ask yourself a much more important question:

How are real customers finding my business?

That might be the metric that actually deserves your attention.

For a long time, we’ve talked about independence as if it were a goal everyone should reach in the same way.

But for autistic people, support needs can look very different. Some may need occasional support, while others may need it throughout their lives.

And neither reality should be seen as a measure of success or failure.

Maybe it’s time to focus less on “making someone independent” and more on building skills, autonomy, and opportunities while respecting each person’s actual support needs.

Without underestimating abilities. Without overlooking support needs. And without imposing one idea of what adulthood should look like.

💬 Do you think we put too much pressure on the idea of “independence”?

We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Disclosure at work can be a powerful step.

When people feel safe sharing that they’re autistic, it can create space for better communication, appropriate accommodations, and a workplace that better understands how different people work and thrive.

At Divershines, we believe there is value in disclosure and in creating workplaces where autistic employees feel comfortable being open about who they are.

But we also believe something just as important: disclosure is a personal choice.
Not everyone feels safe sharing, not every workplace has earned that level of trust, and no one should feel pressured to disclose before they’re ready.

Our goal? A workplace where disclosure doesn’t come with fear of being underestimated or treated differently.

💬 What would make you feel safer disclosing at work?

Talking about financial independence isn’t just about getting a job or receiving your first paycheck.

It’s also about learning what to do with that money.

A 2026 study used a structured approach to teach money management skills to young autistic adults, including saving, spending, shopping, and using banking tools. Participants showed improvement in the skills they were taught.

It was a small study, so it doesn’t represent the experience of everyone on the autism spectrum. But it does bring up an important conversation:

Financial skills can be taught, practiced, and developed.

Preparing for adulthood can also mean talking about budgeting, spending decisions, saving, and managing money.

It’s not only about how to earn an income.
It’s also about building the skills to manage it with greater independence.

We laugh… but there’s a real message behind this meme.

When we want the best for someone we love, it’s easy to feel hopeful every time a new treatment, method, or supposed “miracle” comes along.

But not everything promoted on social media is backed by evidence. And an extraordinary promise, no matter how convincing it sounds, deserves questions.

Do your research, ask questions, look for evidence… And most importantly, talk to qualified professionals before making decisions about treatments or interventions.

When it comes to the autism spectrum, there are no magic solutions or one-size-fits-all answers.

Families deserve responsible information, professional guidance, and realistic expectations, not false promises.

📌 Save and share. Sometimes, making the best decision starts with asking one more question.

Some challenges on the autism spectrum are easy to recognize. Others can go completely unnoticed.

Processing too much sensory input, mentally preparing for a conversation, adjusting to an unexpected change, or getting through a day full of social interaction can take much more effort than people may realize.

And we don’t need to understand every detail of someone else’s experience to support them better.

Sometimes, we can start with something as simple as asking instead of assuming.
“Do you need a minute?”
“Is there anything I can do differently?”

Small adjustments can make a big difference.

Less assuming. More asking.

Inclusion can also become a real business opportunity.
Companies can support neurodiverse entrepreneurs in many ways: buying from them, bringing them into their supplier network, creating spaces to showcase their work, or developing collaborations that introduce their talent to new audiences.

Imagine a limited-edition collection, a corporate gift created by a neurodiverse business, or a collaboration between a brand and a neurodiverse artist.

This isn’t about charity. It’s about opportunity, talent, and business.
And that’s where we want to help build connections, too.

At Divershines, we connect companies with neurodiverse talent and entrepreneurs to create new opportunities for collaboration.

This week’s reminder for our neurodiverse community:

If there’s something you’ve been thinking about doing… try it.

Apply for the job.
Put your idea out there.
Sign up for the class.
Start the project.

You don’t need to feel completely ready before you take that first step.

It’s okay to have doubts and still try.
It’s okay to need support along the way and still move forward.

This week, give yourself permission to try.

Workplace inclusion is also built through the small things we do every day.

Clearer communication, respecting someone’s need for moments with less interaction, and most importantly, asking instead of assuming can make a big difference for a colleague on the autism spectrum.

Not everyone works, communicates, or processes their environment in the same way. Creating an inclusive workplace doesn’t mean treating everyone exactly the same. It means recognizing that different people may need different ways of working.

💬 What would you add to help create a more inclusive workplace?

Workplace inclusion is something we can all learn and practice.
