At Taracea, our relationship with wood begins with knowing where it comes from and understanding its existing conditions. Once it reaches the workshop, that knowledge continues through the people who work with it—making decisions about what to shape, what to preserve and how far to intervene.

It is a way of working that has developed over time, connecting the source of the material with the experience behind its making.

The Nodo Collection explores a balance between geometry and organic character. Its bold, geometric forms are paired with patchwork Guanacaste wood, bringing together the natural variations of each piece of timber against the quiet simplicity of American Oak. The result is a collection where contrasting materials come together in a strong, cohesive form

The Kobe Collection pairs reclaimed Yukas wood with oxidized steel, creating a striking contrast between the wood’s deep fumed tone and the darkened metal. Each piece is designed as if a section of trunk has been frozen within the steel, adapting to different forms while keeping its natural presence at the center

Made from large-scale pieces of Milpa wood burl, this collection celebrates the unique character of the material. The same trunk continues along the sides, creating an organic silhouette while maintaining the function of a refined piece of furniture. Every detail is designed to reveal the wood’s natural variations, imperfections and distinctive character.

Patchwork, worked by hand.
The surface is treated manually, working across the natural variations of the wood while preserving differences in grain, tone and texture. The process allows the material and its irregularities to remain visible as an integral part of the finished surface.
