Absolutely amazing opportunity for kids interested in orchestra

Looking across Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba counties there are practically no orchestra/strings programs offered through public schools. We are so fortunate to have an alternative offered by WPS!

Excited to announce our new community initiative launching August 2026.

In an effort to further support local music and music education, we have selected a dozen or so local organizations and non profits across Western North Carolina that work to promote community music - whether that means hosting live music, teaching individuals or groups, or supporting local musicians.

Western Piedmont Symphony is an amazing professional symphony based out of Hickory NC. They perform a variety of music, host soloists from around the US and beyond, and also host two separate youth symphonies.

For the month of August, a portion of sales at both stores will go directly to the WPS. We will be displaying QR codes for direct donations at both stores as well - and you can always support these talented musicians by coming to one of their concerts.

Excited to announce two new music teachers at the Music Patch!

Justin Mackey - Cello, introductory Violin

Justin has just moved to Morganton from Fayetteville and ive had the pleasure of playing music with him several times in the past couple months.

He's been playing Cello for two decades and during that time he has completed a performance degree as well as gained valuable experience teaching private lessons, performing, and producing music too!

Jade Thornberry - fiddle, mandolin, guitar

Jade is also a recent transplant to the Morganton area after finishing her Bluegrass degree at ETSU!

She is currently touring on the weekends with Missy Raines and John Paycheck but is seeking private lessons during the week

Seek Jade for lessons on any folk instrument, but especially fiddle and mandolin - she also has experience teaching online and posts instruction videos on YouTube
