High temperatures can increase your risk of heat-related illness. Take a few simple steps to protect yourself and your loved ones:
๐ง Drink plenty of waterโeven if you don't feel thirsty.
๐งข Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and a hat.
๐ณ Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
๐ถ๏ธ Limit outdoor activities during the hottest hours (10 a.m.โ4 p.m.).
๐งด Apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
๐ Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
๐ต Check on older adults, young children, and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
โ ๏ธ Know the warning signs: Dizziness, headache, nausea, heavy sweating, muscle cramps, or confusion could be signs of a heat-related illness. If someone shows signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately.
