🌱Our Story🌱
I am Mayuka, the founder of ochamode. I grew up in Kikugawa, Shizuoka, a town known for being the heart of Japan’s green tea production and culture for more than 800 years🍵🏔️ Indeed, for me, ocha is a way of life.
As a child, my mornings began with Fukamushi Sencha, and I gargled with Sencha at school to prevent colds.
During tea harvest season, I also enjoyed soba and tempura made with tea leaves. After living in Tokyo, New York, and the SF Bay Area, I realized how these tea rituals connected me to my community and my health.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic led me to rediscover ocha’s immune-boosting benefits, and I returned to my old habits. I recognized the scientifically backed health and beauty benefits of ocha. This moment united my roots with my desire to improve others’ well-being.
Through ochamode, I aim to share our ocha lifestyle with you by bringing organic, high-quality ocha from farmers in my hometown of Shizuoka.
