This Saturday we'll be at the Jefferson College Handmade Market in Hillsboro, 9 AM to 3 PM in the college field house. It's a room full of local makers, crochet, wood, jewelry, holiday decor, and it benefits the college's Early Childhood Center. We're bringing all 12 Afita characters as CuddleMinis and CuddlePlush, onesies, and the quilted makeup bags and journal covers from our sewing room in Pevely. And on Friday our giveaway opens: one personalized Afita, with a name printed on the back, drawn Nov 30 in time for Christmas. Come say hi and squeeze a few.

This is how our quilted A5 journal cover starts: a panel of fabric quilted through in straight lines under the machine, so the cover comes out soft and slightly padded. A sleeve at each end holds the notebook, and every cover comes with an A5 notebook already inside, blank or lined, for $35. We sew them from the last of a bolt, so each fabric is one of a kind. Tell us a favorite color and we'll pick the print for you. They're made to order in our sewing room in Pevely, and the shop link is at the top of our page.

Tomorrow is day two at the Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival, and the table is still full. Paris and the rest of the Afita family are on the shelves, the Blessing Buddies are in their basket up front, and the quilted journal covers and makeup bags are on the side table. This is how our quilted Bible cover goes on: the Bible slips into a sleeve inside, and the cover closes snug around it. The front is quilted right through to the lining, there's a pocket on the front, and the label on it says Faith, LOVE or Fruit of the Spirit, or a name if you'd rather. It fits Bibles about 9.5 by 7 inches and up to 1.5 inches thick, and if yours is a different size we can make one to measure. They're $45, made to order on our website, and a few finished ones are coming to our table at the Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival this weekend, booth M50.

This weekend we're at the Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival, and here's how to find us. We're booth M50, on Market Street at the north end near Front Street, across from Behold Coffee and the post office. It runs 10 to 5 Saturday and Sunday, entry is free, and parking in town is tight, so the free shuttle from the Windsor School campuses is the easy way in. Come hold an Afita and see the quilted Bible covers, journal covers and makeup bags in person.

One week until the Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival, and our table looks a little different this year. Next to the Afita plush you'll find quilted A5 journal covers, quilted makeup bags, rag quilt totes and rag quilt baby blankets, all sewn in our sewing room in Pevely. Most of the cover and makeup bag fabrics exist once, so if one catches your eye, it may be the only one. Find us at booth M50 on Market Street, across from Behold Coffee, Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25, 10 to 5. Entry is free, and there's a free shuttle from the Windsor School campuses.

This is how an A5 journal cover gets made in our sewing room in Pevely, Missouri. The front is pieced, then quilted in straight lines right through to the lining, so it lies flat with clean edges. This one is the cherry blossom. It fits a standard A5 notebook, 8.27 by 5.5 inches. Covers are $35, or $38 with a notebook inside, made to order on our website, and they're coming to our table at the Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival too. The shop link is on our page.
