🧪 REP YOUR SCIENCE FRIDAY

This week, we’re excited to feature Dr. Fahren Ni**le, Autopsy Assistant and Funeral Service/Medical Examiner Liaison . Dr. Ni**le has built her career across forensic pathology, autopsy services, and medical examiner operations.

We asked Dr. Ni**le to share what inspired her journey and what it means to Rep Your Science.

What inspired you to pursue science?

“My journey into science is deeply personal. When I was in the eighth grade, I was diagnosed with hidradenitis suppurativa and underwent a major surgery that required the removal of sweat glands from underneath both of my arms. During my healing process, cadaveric donor skin was used to help my body heal.

That experience changed my life. At such a young age, I learned firsthand how someone I would never meet could make an incredible impact on my life through the gift of donation. It sparked my curiosity about the human body, medicine, death, and the ways we can continue helping others even after life.”

What does “Rep Your Science” mean to you?

“To me, ‘Rep Your Science’ means being unapologetically proud of the field you represent while also creating space for others to see themselves in it.

It means showing people that scientists do not all look the same, come from the same backgrounds, or follow the same path.”

What advice would you give others pursuing science?

“Trust the process. God has a plan, and everything will work out the way it is supposed to, even when the journey doesn’t look exactly how you imagined it would.

Don’t limit yourself to the careers or opportunities you already know exist. Science is such a vast field, and sometimes your purpose is found in an area you never knew was an option.”

Fun fact?

“Outside of the world of forensic science and autopsies, I love to sing and I’m also an avid LEGO collector!”

Join us in celebrating Dr. Fahren Ni**le, DFS, as she Reps Her Science and helps the next generation discover the many possibilities within forensic science! 🧪

🧪 REP YOUR SCIENCE FEATURE!

Today, we’re excited to feature Amy Fogelman, MD, Founder and Medical Director of High Rock Experts®, a Harvard-trained, board-certified internist. After more than 20 years in clinical medicine, including a decade at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Fogelman now works at the intersection of medicine, science, and law. High Rock Experts

Through High Rock Experts®, she connects attorneys with qualified medical professionals who provide objective, evidence-based opinions in legal cases. She also trains clinicians to become ethical, credible medical expert witnesses through High Rock® Academy.

💡 What inspired you to pursue science and medicine?

“My father was my first inspiration to pursue science and medicine. He was a pediatric oncologist and general pediatrician, and growing up, I saw what it meant to be the person others turned to when they were scared or needed answers.”

🧬 What does “Rep Your Science” mean to you?

“To me, ‘Rep Your Science’ means being proud of the way scientific training shapes how you think, wherever your career takes you. Science taught me to ask questions, examine evidence, challenge assumptions, and be willing to change my mind when the facts support a different conclusion.”

🔬 What advice would you give to future scientists?

“Stay curious, and never be afraid to ask questions. Science isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about wanting to understand why, being willing to question what you think you know, and following the evidence wherever it leads.”

Fun Fact:

“I’m a proud dance mom. After years of medicine, medical-legal work, and raising two daughters, I can tell you I’ve spent an impressive number of hours in dance studios, theaters, and backstage!”
