Happy Earth Day! 🌎 💚

Fifty-six years ago on April 22, 1970, Earth Day marked the launch of the modern environmental movement. Twenty million Americans gathered in streets, parks and auditoriums to demonstrate against cascading negative consequences of 150 years of unchecked industrial development on our environment and our health. That day remains the largest secular protest of all time.

Earth Day 2026 takes place TODAY, April 22, with the theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” reflecting the fundamental truth that “environmental progress doesn’t depend on any single administration or election. It’s sustained by daily actions of communities, educators, workers, and families protecting where they live and work.”

We’re excited to partner with Vellum St Soap Company on reusing packing materials! Even though most of our inventory arrives in earth friendly packaging, it seems crazy to recycle or compost after only one use!

is such a planet friendly company, offering their phenomenal Fat Marshmallow Whipped Tallow Skin Fluff and other products in upcycled jars from , and it gives us great pleasure to share compostable packing peanuts and paper for their shipping operations (as well as carrying their wonderful products in the shop).

Our brushes have handles made from sustainable bamboo and bristles made of plant-based sisal which can attack the grimiest grime on your dishes and pots. Our dish soap blocks and brushes are a perfect pair for fighting heavy duty messes.

Brushes are more durable than sponges, can last longer, and often harbor less bacteria because the bristles dry quickly. Remember to store your brush bristle side down to ensure it fully dries. When you’re ready to retire your brush it can be composted.
