In Celuk (Silver Village) again, one year later, to purchase more treasures and visit with Iluh, who always takes such good care of me when I’m shopping for silver.

Celuk is a village in Bali known for its long tradition of silversmithing. For generations, local artisans have worked by hand, creating intricate silver jewelry using techniques passed down through families.

I love being able to choose pieces here in Bali and bring a little of that tradition home to The Gilded Pear.✨💖🍐

Soon I will be returning to Bali, a place that continues to inspire my work and curiosity. 🙏💚🌺A place where the sacred and the beautiful seem to meet everywhere.✨Rangda, a little piece of Bali already in my hands. ✨

I love mixing my intricate brass bangles with Douglas Spoon’s faceted pieces. Their cut-crystal look makes the combination feel like jewelry discovered in an old treasure box. My bangles are adjustable yet wonderfully sturdy, with all that beautiful vintage detail. ✨

Explored the French regions of Ch*****ne and Burgundy. There’s so much beauty. I particularly love shopping for antiques. I purchased several components that will be made into jewelry… Pictures to follow! ✨💖🍐

Parisian inspired layers of vintage brass and sterling silver, with tiny Eiffel Towers and PARIS spelled into the details. ✨🇫🇷🍐

I had a pop-up book about Paris as a little girl, with the Eiffel Tower rising from the centerfold. I think I have been a Francophile ever since. Every time I return to Paris, there is a strange sense of nostalgia, like returning to a place I somehow already knew.🔓🇫🇷🔒❤️🗝️

At Versailles, I kept noticing the same ornamental vocabulary I had seen at Société Nouvelle Janvier Gruson Prat. Scrolling foliage, ribbons, bows and floral forms repeated at an architectural scale. These motifs are rooted in 18th century French decorative arts, appearing across architecture, furniture, metalwork and jewelry. Seeing the connection between these decorative traditions and the components I use in my own work was especially meaningful.

I wanted to touch and look at absolutely everything. Drawer after drawer, I kept finding tiny treasures and imagining what I might create with them, but I was especially taken with the bows.🎀 Something about those intricate French stamped-brass bows felt wonderfully romantic, feminine and unmistakably Parisian. I left with new treasures and so many ideas.✨💖🍐
