Supply shop for fiber folk. Wild Hand is a community that believes in the magic of fiber craft: to Nestled in Philadelphia’s Mt.

Airy neighborhood, we offer materials, education, and community to encourage curiosity for fiber craft: weaving, crochet, knitting, felting, spinning, dyeing, knotting, stitching, fleece processing, and more! We believe that the wellbeing of our fiber community — including the people, land, and animals that create the supplies we sell — is more important than anything else. With that in mind, we carefully select the supplies we carry and promote.

SUR is BACK IN STOCK at the shop! Lovin' this purple (called Hatch Back). So excited to welcome Keira back to the shop in a couple weeks on 10/25 for another series of wheel spinning workshops and a Fiber Batt pop-up. There's only one spot left for the 2.0 workshop so grab it while ya can! The Batt Making has a few spots left and is a pop-up where you can work with Keira to design your own batt color.⁠

Meet CARLIE!! Carlie has been on team Wild Hand for over five years as a Sales Associate. You'll find them working some weekends and behind the scenes on special projects. We are so very happy to have you on the team for this long, Carlie!⁠

Carlie is a q***r crafter hailing from Richmond, VA who has called Philly home since 2021. They love exploring the many intersections of craft and community that Philly has to offer and enjoy working with secondhand and sustainable materials. Primarily a knitter, Carlie also dabbles in spinning, natural dye, weaving, cross stitch, and quilting.

It's back!! We are over-the-moon to welcome back Worsted. We adore the versatility of this woolen spun and thoughtfully-produced non-superwash yarn. Peace Fleece yarns are made with Rambouillet wool blended with a domestic fine wool and Mohair for strength. The Rambouillet in this lovely wool blend is sourced from the Navajo Nation. We LOVE Peace Fleece!

Restocked!! We just received a shipment of fleece batting from and more felting tools. This fleece is great for needle or wet felting ... it also works well for felted soap!

It's brighter, it's bouncier, and it's actually worsted! Say hello to 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘. This just went live in the web and Mt. Airy shops. The new Dream State is now a squishy, delightful 2-ply and a proper worsted weight, making it look more Spincycle-y than ever.

There are oh-so-many projects we can't wait to cast-on with this yarn, but first might just be Andrea Mowry's iconic Nightshift Shawl! This epic, technicolored shawl is how many folks experienced our Dream State for the first time. Using six skeins, each a different colorway, this is a can't-put-it-down kinda project. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲-𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 (grab those skeins while you can ... quantities are limited).
