It’s been a busy week so while I don’t have a new embroidered work to share I wanted to try on this baby tee I drew on a few weeks ago, post inked up.
Still working it out with myself how I’d like to draw on clothing that won’t be embroidered later but I’m enjoying the experimentation.

🫛AUGUST RECAP🫛
Life was beautiful and quiet this month.
August is the National Month of Grieving and at times I often felt it but this was also the first month in a while that I felt I was settling back into life as it’s supposed to be.
I’m allowed to have wonder.
I’m allowed to create freely.
I’m allowed to show up.
I’m allowed to take impromptu trips.
I’m allowed to know peace.
Peace is allowed to know me.
I’m trying to emerge back into waking life as both an artist and as a person and as we limber into September, I’m interested to see what comes next.

✨WORKS IN PROGRESS✨
The lil baby 3” hoops have been very popular and it makes sense because they’re the perfect gallery filler for those awkward little spots when you’re hanging all your art.
Working on a double batch of all florals and plants headed for the Milwaukee Art Museum Store in Wisconsin! Happy to be bringing a folksy touch to the museum.
For now I’m just working on this marigold ✨✨

⚡️LISPECTOR QUOTE⚡️
My favorite writer of all time and one of my mamans(women of some notoriety I look up to as like my patron saint) is Clarice Lispector. When I did my MFA I felt very lost and isolated of what my real writing voice was and what I wanted it to be and it wasn’t until I read Lispector’s Near to the Wild Heart that I wasn’t so alone after all, somewhere and at some time there’s someone who writes like me and thinks like me, unapologetically.
And it’s with that, I made this hoop with one of her quotes which I think is universally applicable. At any time you feel alone in the world, you must learn to be alone with yourself and be your own friend.
