Rainbow-Colored Clouds on Mars
This image shows a real phenomenon observed by NASA’s Curiosity rover: extremely high-altitude Martian clouds displaying subtle rainbow-like colors called iridescence, also known as “mother-of-pearl” clouds. �

🌈 Why the colors? The colors are produced when sunlight interacts with cloud particles that are very similar in size. This creates pastel shades such as red, green, blue, and purple. �
