Hi all,

We have some very sad news to share. Yesterday our beloved store manager, Penny, passed away. We are shocked and devastated as we grasp how real it is to not have her at the store anymore. We ask for privacy and your patience at this time, and please note that the store is closed today.

While we never knew how old Penny really was, we know she had over 10 amazing years with Caroline and Mads and almost 4 years as the best bookstore cat we could ask for.

Thank you for all the love she received from all of you who came to visit her and her online supporters. Thank you to the wonderful people at Ferguson Animal Hospital and Bay State Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Services for all the amazing care they provided for Penny.

We will need some time to grieve and figure out next steps but we hope you will still come by the store and visit us. We will be sharing details for a memorial service in the next few weeks.
