💖 Her sweet singing voice. Her laugh. Her wonderful music. And her profound spirit that was always giving.

Dolly Parton’s generosity and compassion seemed limitless. She donated millions of dollars to various causes, including education, healthcare, which included a donation of $1 million dollars in April of 2020, which went towards the development of the Covid Moderna vaccine, and disaster relief. In 1988, she founded The Dollywood Foundation, to serve the people of East Tennessee by providing scholarships to keep students in school. In 1995 she established Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program very dear to our hearts, that to date has donated over 300 million free books to children around the world from birth to age five. 📚

Goodbye Dolly. Thank you for showing us what the best of humanity can achieve. Fly high little sparrow. 🕊️

Our August days are certainly cooler than usual, but the evenings will be heating up with the return of our West End Village block party, starting tonight, and every Friday through October 16, with local musicians & singers. The music is from 6 to 9pm, and we will be open with our book table in front of the store, which will be loaded with new books we recently acquired. Inside our shelves are also fully stocked with new arrivals. Come join us, hang out, get some books, and listen to the music! 📚 🎶
