The air is getting crisp and that means it's time to craft. Pick out something fun on our fall schedule and text the chat with the game plan. Our workshops happen in the Tashiro Kaplan building in Pioneer Square - either in my art studio or in one of the larger galleries who are kind enough to host us. Either way, we're one block from the Pioneer Square light rail stop which makes it SUPER convenient.

I LOVE it when Erin Eggenburg from makes the trip from Portland to Seattle to teach us some mending techniques. She is a master mender and dye-er and also just a great person in general.

October is upon us and - while you still have plenty of time to shop for my birthday on 10/03 - you're gonna want to grab a few tickets to our upcoming classes this month: https://uglybaby.shop/pages/upcoming-classes-events

I'll be teaching you to shoot yarn out of a power tool & make your own rugs, use weird gelatinous plates to create one of a kind prints and create a fiber art portrait of your favorite furry friend (Halloween costumes encouraged).

Melissa Galbraith from will be teaching you how to embroider on your clothing and applique gorgeous fabric landscapes. Later in the month she'll teach you to embroider a series of PNW animals.

William Reichle from will be teaching a pressed flower suncatcher workshop.

will be teaching us how to paint florals with acrylics.

Look at this glorious piece of student work from one of our Punch Needle Pet Portrait workshops. Fantastic! I feel like they captured the essence of that little face in an amazing way. I also love how they added little swirls to the background.

And the best part: YOU CAN DO THIS! Yes, you! I'm not joking. With zero experience and zero talent and zero crafty genes - YOU CAN DO THIS.

If you want to make a portrait of your pet (or your friend's pet - or a seal you liked at the - yes, someone did a seal!) join us on 9/12, 10/30 (costume photos encouraged!), 11/7 or 12/18. You send in a photo and we simplify it and draw it onto the canvas for you. Once you master the art of punch needle, the rest of the workshop is kind of like a paint by number - but with yarn. Wanna?

We will be gathering next Tuesday evening, September 15th. This would make a wonderful souvenir for a trip to our fair city. It would also be a wonderful way to gather with friends and MAKE SOMETHING WITH YOUR OWN HANDS.
