The Muscle Shoals Songwriters Festival was created to celebrate the songwriters, artists, and rich musical heritage that make North Alabama unlike anywhere else in the world. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every ticket sold helps support and preserve the legacy of the place where so many iconic songs were born.

For three unforgettable days, songwriters, music lovers, and industry professionals come together to experience the stories behind the songs in the heart of Muscle Shoals.

In June 1980, the Birmingham News did a full-page spread on the topic of country music artists from the state of Alabama. The band Alabama is inextricably linked with DeKalb County with members Randy Owen, Jeff Cook, and Teddy Gentry growing up in Fort Payne. Hank Williams Jr. and Tammy Wynette are also well-known Alabama stars. What you may not know is that Emmylou Harris attended an Alabama high school, and George Lindsey of Andy Griffith fame recorded songs and appeared on the show Hee Haw. Clayton Ivey of the FAME gang played on "Patches", "One Bad Apple", & hundreds of others...Lisa Silver wrote country hits for Reba, Alabama & Don Williams...together they produced Kristen Shores new single "Comin' Home To Me" that was just released!! Go give it a listen!!

Happy birthday to a 2023 AMHOF Inductee, Lenny LeBlanc! 🎊

A successful songwriter and singer, it was nearly impossible to turn on the radio in the late 70’s without hearing Lenny LeBlanc & Pete Carr’s hit ballad, “Falling.” LeBlanc was an integral part of the phenomenon that became know as the "Muscle Shoals Sound". Even though there were plenty of friends and other career distractions, he knew where he wanted music to take him and he possessed the drive to make it happen.

If these walls could talk... they'd probably sing a Hood melody. 🎙️A truly special moment captured today at 3614 Jackson Highway. Swamper David Hood standing alongside his son, brilliant singer-songwriter Patterson Hood of the Drive By Truckers. It's incredible to think about the sheer volume of classic songs that have been shaped by this family. David helped build the literal foundation of the "Muscle Shoals Sound" as a co-founder of the studio, and Patterson continues to be one of the most vital voices storytelling across America today. Pure Alabama music royalty right here. 🙌
