We've been very busy the last couple weeks building a new garden for this season. Kyle has been tremendous help on his days off and claims he goes to work to "take a break" lol The best part?!?! Its going to include some cottage garden design which is were I find the most joy in creating. Kyle unloaded a total of 17,720 lbs of rock to create the paths and walkways with a shovel and wheelbarrow. It'll be pure magic when its in full bloom hopefully the end of July. I hope you will all come to see it!

Hello everyone,

Kyle and Erin here, just wanted to take a moment to touch base with all of our wonderful followers here. Life is crazy and hectic these days so updates have been far and few between.

With that we just wanted to give an update on what's happening and yes we are still here. Seedlings are growing and some things are slowly getting planted as we kindly wait for mother nature to keep warming up.

Keep an eye on here for more updates as we progress through the spring, summer and fall. There will be garden events coming up that we will post about and other activities around the farm.

With that all said, once again, we appreciate all our of our customers and followers and as always feel free to message us with any questions.

Tonight is the night for our bouquet bar! I found more selection than I thought! This is just 1 load of flowers! Tonight at 6:30 in our new parking lot East of our house. 32254 250th st. Shell Rock.

Not only will you get the chance to help out 1 small business, but you get to help out two! Kat with Striving and Thriving Soaps LLC will have some of her products available too! I really hope to see you soon!

Farm Update and Bouquet Bar Event!

I know it's late notice and its been a while but I've been back and forth trying to decide what to do. I had to design a new field and I was just getting ready to open it but then we got hit by a derecho (and in case you missed it, Shell Rock was hit HARD) with that being said, half the field is flat or shredded (like all my sunflowers) and the other half managed Ok. I'm planning on setting up a bouquet bar in our new parking lot just EAST of our garage this Thursday (8-7) from 6:30 to 8 pm.

At this point, its mostly zinnias that made it through and I will try to pick whatever else I can to go with them. So this event will be more about supporting local business than it is about making perfect well rounded bouquets. I will have cups available and you can choose whatever fits in it. $20.

The new field isn't finished yet, and despite my hardest effort, I couldn't build it and get our house finished at the same time. We had to do majority of the finish work ourselves and it overlapped the same time I needed to be in the garden. We were finally able to move back home the middle of June, just 4 days shy of 8 months.

I was trying to come up with adjectives that describe what the last 10 months has been like and tell you the truth, I couldn't come up with anything good. We were hit with one hardship after another, after another, after another and I feel tired and broken. I'm still dealing the an awful lot of heartache that never goes away and the good Lord knows I wanted to quit a thousand times. We are going to keep it low key for now and try to rest. This time, we will build the plane before we fly it.

This post is not meant for everyone to feel bad for me. It's my mission to always keep it real because Facebook is always so full of fake. You only see the pretty and never the ugly. This is me, keeping it real.

Future outlook of tulip season and u-pick. Important info.

Hi All,

I make this post with a very heavy heart. The last 6 months have been extremely difficult for us with the last 5-6 weeks being especially rough. Some hard decisions have needed to be made. The stress is adding up and is not doing anyone in my family any good. It's now affecting my children and my ability to mother them which is 1st priority. So with a very very heavy and heartbroken heart, some changes are going to be made.

Tulip season- is comming close to an end for the year. I will set them out today (4/25) starting at 3 and again Saturday morning starting at 9. They will be free will donation. The parking lot is too wet to drive on so they will be left in the back of our pickup that will be sitting in the house driveway. Please be respectful of the neighbors and drive slow as there are lots of young kids in the area. The gates to the parking lot have been closed.

U-pick field- the u-pick field is no longer. It is simply a closed door. I will not go into any kind of detail reguarding that. In the mean time, I am going to try and put something together and can still have a couple of events. If you had free tickets or a gift card please message me and I will still honor them somehow. In the best interest of me, my family, and the future of the farm, it's just best to let it go.

So what does this season look like? I don't know. I keep having to deal with one horrible thing after another. We've had a couple major set backs on the house and itll be probably at least another month before its done enough to move back into but even that seems too optimistic to believe. I hope I'm wrong about that. We just hit the 6 month mark since it happened. Getting back home is top priority and we have to do a fair amount of finish work ourselves to cut costs.

The basement is still full of seedlings that need to go out so I am planning on running the farm stand this summer. (Which will probably get moved to a new location) I may even do a limited number of CSAs and a couple cutting events but we will have to see how much work I can get done on top of the house. I'm trying to design a new field and I don't want to rush it.

I'm not giving up or quitting. I don't consider any of this as failure but I do need rest before I lose everything. Its really really hard to keep going when you dont feel like it. My heart hurts so much right now and all I feel is dread. So we are going to step back, regroup, redirect, redesign, rebuild, and bring back the joy it used to bring without all the pressure of running a business on top of it.

Please be nice to one another because people never forget how you make them feel. Don't be the reason someone feels miserable. Be beautiful on the inside.

I will have some tulip bunches available in the farm stand starting tomorrow morning (4/19) at 9 am until sold out.

My life is a hot mess right now, I cant seem to get off the struggle bus, and I don't have a better picture so I'll introduce you to Kevin.

I've had a number of inquiries about tulips today (4/5). I will put out the last of my stock that is ready. Same deal as yesterday. I've got a bunch of these beautiful white doubles are salmon doubles. They will be out until sold out.

P.s. thanks to everybody who came out yesterday. We had a great turnout and you have brought my ❤️ much joy!

!! SALE!! Tulips in the flower stand!

Hey everyone! We are moving yet again. Unfortunately, not back into our house. They found another source of smoke damage and now they are tearing apart some stuff upstairs. With that being said, I don't have time to deal with tulips at the moment and I need my fridge back. Tomorrow afternoon (4-4) starting at 3 pm until 7pm I will have buckets of tulips in the flower stand. Come make yourself a large bouquet at only $1 a stem. It'll be tulip bar style so you get to pick and choose what you want. I'll have wraps provided to help you get them home!

I've got these varieties of tulips available! I'll put some bunches out in the farm stand tomorrow afternoon (3-28) from 3 to 7. Stop by after work/school so you can enjoy them during our rainy weekend! You can also send me a message and we can arrange a pick up or delivery!
