The Wheel of the Year turns again! Tonight/tomorrow August 1st is one of the four greater Sabbats of the year! Lughnasadh marks the midpoint of the seasons being right in between Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox, it moves us from the peak of summer to the feel of fall as the harvest begins. Lughnasadh also called Lammas, celebrates Celtic God of Light Lugh. The traditional first harvest is wheat/grain and so is celebrated by making breads, looking back at all the things you’ve grown and manifested this year so far, and letting the light in with friends and loved ones. It is a time of both reflection and gratitude but also growth; what have you grown and what do you want to grow still, what are you “spiritually baking” into your bread? I just love this photo. Shirley MacLaine has really not been given the credit deserved for bringing the spirituality movement psychic readings, crystals, reincarnation, and all of that into the main stream. Back in 1985 we were considered to be doing the devil’s work and people used to hide their faces when they wanted to come in to have a Psychic reading. Shirley McLean brought it all out of the back alleys because she was the person people related to and actually understood that this was actually not the devil’s work and it took off from there. Borisov  was also very instrumental then,the quintessential ballet dancer, but also did a lot of positive things politically and it’s just great to see the two of them together. I think that kind of our unsung heroes that people forget about. All kinds of positive changes because of these two people in the 80s that we enjoy today.
