Tomorrow is going to be the last regular Thursday evening group ride for 2026 due to the sunset getting earlier and not leaving enough time to get everyone off the trails before sunset like Parks has asked us to do. It’s been a busy week around the shop and we are so grateful for the opportunity to serve our local community and help make the world a better place one bike at a time. We just finished up a delivery of Specialized Bicycle Components Haul ST E-bikes for a local company who wants to help shrink their carbon footprint at their facilities all while helping their service technicians to be more efficient and capable. And we’d argue: all while have a whole lot more fun while on the job. We outfitted these bikes with special heavy duty polyethylene saddle bags and racks that will easily take on the daily wear and tear ahead. If you are interested in purchasing an E-bike, come on down to look at our inventory and take a test ride.

Happy New Bike Day Camille and Austin! Today they are adding another Adventure vehicle to their fleet, the DAHON INTERNATIONAL Hemingway D9. And like its namesake, it’s a speedy little folding bike that is just as adaptable in city environments as it is on the trail and more rural settings. The Patuxent Adventure Center is looking for a part-time sales associate this Fall, particularly on weekends. The ideal candidate has a deep connection to cycling and paddle sports in Southern MD, and can help customers select bikes and kayaks, coordinate rentals, and deepen their local outdoor experiences. Bike shop or bike mechanic experience is helpful, but not required. Seniors or retirees are welcome to apply. Some lifting and some driving will be required. Scheduling is flexible, but generally less than 20 hours per week, with at least one weekend day each week. Pay would be $20 per hour. Email david@paxadventure with resumes.
