Calling all future firefighters! 🚒

The Kids Jr. Fire Academy is back at River Park Square on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10:30am-12:30pm! Kids can meet local firefighters, explore fire trucks, try hands-on activities, learn important safety skills and earn their very own Jr. Firefighter certificate.

This free, family-friendly event is always a blast. We’ll see you downtown!

Mark your calendars! The Kids Jr. Fire Academy is Saturday, Sept. 12, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at River Park Square. Come meet your local firefighters, tour and see demonstrations from a ladder truck and fire engine, learn hands-only CPR, make a craft, operate a charged fire hose, learn about child passenger safety, and so much more! Kids can collect stamps at each activity and receive a Jr. Firefighter certificate.

Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to the donation drive supporting those affected by the Spokane Complex fires. Donations are being distributed to local nonprofit partners providing essential resources throughout the community.

Donations will be accepted through the end of August at the River Park Square Concierge Desk. Consider bringing an item along the next time you catch a movie, grab dinner, shop or stop by:

River Park Square is a collection site for Tools 2 Schools, a partnership between Communities In Schools of Northeast Washington, KREM 2 News, and Office Depot that helps provide school supplies and other essentials to local students.

We’ll be collecting new backpacks, school supplies and personal care items at Saturday’s celebration and throughout the month of August.

Come have some fun, bring a donation if you can, and help us send local students back to school ready for the year ahead.
