A Comprehensive Downtown Revitalization Program:

Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP)
The DSP is a private, non-profit membership organization that serves as Spokane's central city advocate and service provider, dedicated to enhancing the quality and vitality of Downtown Spokane as the basis for a healthy region. The DSP accomplishes its mission through advocating for public policies, business and

project development, quality planning, physical improvement projects, public safety, beautification, and marketing programs that ensure Downtown's continued success. The DSP implements a comprehensive set of action items to strengthen Downtown Spokane as a place to live, work, and invest. Downtown Spokane Business Improvement District (BID)
The BID was created by Spokane City Council in July 1995 and reauthorized in 2001 at the request of the area's business and property owners. The City of Spokane hires the DSP to administer the BID on the City's behalf to deliver enhanced services including clean, safe, promotions, and parking in order to make Downtown a more attractive place to visit, shop, and invest. Comprising approximately 80 blocks of the Central Business District, the BID boundaries are generally Maple to Browne, and the Railroad Viaduct to North River Drive. More than 900 businesses and 425 property owners are contained within the area. Special assessments of over $1,000,000 from within the BID fund activities, programs, and management. Property assessments are based on land and improvement values and businesses are assessed based upon square footage, use, and location. The BID maintains a pedestrian-friendly environment that provides clean, safe, and well-managed public spaces to enhance business activities and promote the whole Downtown experience. The BID encourages investment by providing the revenue and political will to keep commercial streets clean, safe, and economically vibrant. While the BID’s primary role is to fund and implement Enhanced Public Services, it is a critical component of the overall Downtown revitalization.

It's time to celebrate our last but certainly not least, 2026 Best in BID Winner! 🏆

Mirak Kazanjian, of Skewers in downtown Spokane, was voted "Most Inspirational Business Owner" in the 2026 Best in BID Awards.

Calling ALL knitting & crochet enthusiasts! 🧶

We’re teaming up with Art Salvage to celebrate National Yarn Bombing Day by transforming Spokane Falls Boulevard into a colorful, community-powered art installation and you can be part of it! ✨

Stop by Jupiter's Eye Book Cafe on May 17 from 10:00am to noon to stitch alongside fellow makers and help create hand-knit and crocheted squares that will wrap 13 downtown trees in vibrant yarn art.

Yarn, instruction, and support will be provided. Just bring your favorite knitting needles or crochet hooks and get ready to create something special.

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started, all are welcome. 💜

It's Friday! Let's celebrate the occasion by spotlighting another 2026 Best in BID Award Winner! Auntie's Bookstore was voted the "Best Local Legacy" and we couldn't agree more! 🏆

What started in 1978 as the Book and Game Company in the Spokane Flour Mill has grown into a true local institution with a rich history in downtown Spokane. From opening a dedicated bookstore in 1985 to settling into the renovated Liberty Building in 1994, this beloved shop has remained a steady, story filled cornerstone of the community for decades. 📖
