FYI !

(Copied from a Game Warden)

Just a friendly reminder that c**n , deer, rabbit , season and squirrel season are open!!! There will be hounds showing up everywhere.. Owners will be happy to come get their dogs if you call them.. These dogs have homes..they are fed... They can look skinny after a couple days of running lost without food.. Yes, it can happen that fast.. Help them get home where they can be fed...
DO NOT REMOVE THEIR COLLARS! IT IS A FELONY!
That funny looking collar is a tracking collar.. Not a shock collar... This means someone is looking for them! This is what these dogs look forward to.. (no, you can not force a dog to hunt.. They do that because they want to). You are not saving a dog or rescuing one if you take one and try to rehome it.. You're stealing someone's dog. Which is also a felony. Some of these dogs will appear shy or timid... That's because you aren't their owner, not necessarily because the dog has been abused... Most of the time is from not being socialized with people. I know everyone has good intentions, but a little information to help everyone make the right decision might save some heartache for someone else.
PLEASE COPY & PASTE TO GET THE WORD OUT!!

Marine Corps Base Quantico operates 43 live-fire ranges that support training from small arms to explosive demolitions to artillery fire to the delivery of live-aerial munitions. As a regional facility, MCBQ is a critical asset for weapons proficiency training for Marines, the Department of Defense, federal agencies, and law enforcement organizations.

The impact of noise, vibrations, and/or illuminations experienced across the area can vary greatly depending on the residential location, atmospheric conditions, time of day and reductions to naturally occurring sound barriers.

Because training on Quantico is continuous, residents can expect to always hear some noise or feel vibrations. Although we strive to provide accurate daily live-fire operations, please know schedules/live-fire activities can change due to operational conditions. Great information from our local Taxidermist!

Great information from our local Taxidermist!

Turkey season is right around corner here in Va! Just got these 2 Osceola's in from Florida today. If anyone is goin out of state for a hunt or even here at home and plan on getting a mount done please contact me on proper field care or handling. Never trust a guide that says they know how to skin a turkey. The way I skin is a certain way to make the mounting process easier and makes for a better mount! Keep a sandwich baggie, 3 paper towels, large trash bag and a rubberband or roll of electrical tape in your hunting vest. One paper towel in mouth other two wrapped around head. Then head in baggie and tape bag just above waddles(not on feathers). Helps keep any blood dripping out of head on your feathers. Then head first into trash bag and carry out of woods. This one small thing is huge in keeping bird clean and producing better mount. Good luck to everyone this season!
