I am loving this book so much, and not just because, before every day's entry, she writes down the books that she ordered that day, which is a great source for new books to have in the bookstore! That's a great reason in itself. But it is also filled with little excerpts of poetry and beauty, and what is going on in her little mountain village of 180 people and the great observations she makes about life, for example, walking under the sun on incredibly flat streets. She hates it and when I think about it, walking under the sun on flat streets is not nearly as interesting or thought provoking as walking under the sun on the streets that go either up or down. Streets that go either up or down keep you on your toes, always, literally and metaphorically. What an interesting observation! I love it. The fact that she even thought about this indicates what an interesting mind that she has.
I'm reading this book for the second time. The first time I just read it, not noting all the books in writing on my own pad of paper that she was mentioning. The second time reading it, I was careful to write down every book from her daily orders that I would want to read/have at Bay Books. I hope you read it and I hope you agree. In any case, your mind is going to have a very fine time!
