Because history is fun(and important) -
National Doughnut Day was created in 1938 by Salvation Army to honor "Donut Lassies", a women who volunteered to care for wounded soldiers by making doughnuts to boost their morale. Since then, every year, National Doughnut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June.

My top favorite this morning is the carrot cake donut, it's a yeast donut filled with bavarian custard, topped with a cream cheese frosting and homemade carrot cake! 🥕 🍩
