Model was built for the outgoing Commanding Officer, LtCol Jens 'Merica' Gilbertson

I designed the paint scheme for this Yankee for 269 last year.

Markings are a mix of kit decals and custom made masks and decals.

Painted with Tamiya Acrylics and Lacquers, as well as Model Master Enamels.

Delivered to MCAS New River yesterday (16 April).

Finally, after 3 years, I once again have a relatively proper work area.

Other than the ceiling, proper supports for the exhaust duct, and some decorating, the updated office/workshop is finally done!

I'll work on the ceiling a little at a time until it's done, but for now, it's time to sit at the workbench and build a model, as well as get back into full production and finish some decal art!

This is so much more organized than it has been since we moved here, and I can't wait to get caught up in long overdue model builds!

I have not built a model for myself in over 15 years. Hell, the last model I built for myself, I ended up selling a few months after it was finished. It's been 23 years since I've had a built model in a display case for any decent length of time.......that one got sold too!

Everything currently in work are for other people, and everything I've built over the past 7 years were for others.

It's time I try to build something for me. Don't know if I'll be successful, but damn it, I'm going to try!

Most of the aftermarket is from my small hobby line, with a few items from Sierra Hotel Models and FlightLine Resin. Somewhere, I have a seated pilot from Reedoak that I may include.....once I find it!

Aircraft will be from either VMFA-314, VMFA-333 or VMFA-451 as they appeared during Desert Storm. Still undecided on the squadron and Ordnance configuration.

Let's see if I can make this happen!
