What a treat it has been waking up early to go hike and do some bird watching. 🦉🐦🌳☀
(Yes, I am officially THAT age and I love it, go ahead make the joke.)

Also a treat was reading The Mash Up. A silly, fun, whimsical little love story. I had fun suspending disbelief and leaning into the light hearted fantasy. The romance is sweet, the world is cute, and the concept is super unique. It even made me stop and think about how different my goals at 13 were compared to how different my goals are now that I am a full on grown up going out bird watching in the mornings. Life perspective changes so much but its still ok to treat your inner child to let go and enjoy the ride sometimes!

On Sundays She Picked Flowers is a dark emotionally haunting book.

Yah-Yah Scholfield does not shy away from gritty, gory, and upsetting which are all reasons why this incredibly written story fully engrossed me. I found myself moved by Jude's strength, unsettled by the atmosphere, and appalled at the humanity.

This is a fantastic gothic summer horror book.

Tia Williams writes her characters to be so real and so raw. The Missed Connection is the definition of a summer romance read. I love the tension between the two leads, I love the emotion of watching two people learn to trust themselves as well as each other. The concept of your entire company rooting for your missed connection is so cute.
