My obsession with the desert started with the unique plants which led me into desert herbalism, creating Sonoran Rosie to share the the scents & healing power of Sonoran Desert plants.

6 years later my passion for local art & community led me to open Arizona Poppy. The shop is filled with unique desert creations & designs that you can’t find at big box stores. Of course we have some non desert related things too but my passion for the desert truly shines here. Arizona Poppy is an inclusive shop for desert lovers, handmade enthusiasts, Tucson fans, maker supporters, environmentalists, q***rdos, neurodivergents, gardeners & more. We are anti AI, corporations, fast fashion, environmental destruction and oligarchies.

It’s been decades since the majority of our household items were handmade. Handmade has been replaced by cheap, plastic, mass produced things. Handmade items last longer, are unique and usually have craftsmanship behind them. Nowadays handmade is rare and a luxury for those who know where to find it and can afford it. This is sad and why we are behind supporting and investing in the real humans who create with their hands.

It may cost a little more to purchase handmade but you are gaining quality which means you don’t have purchase as often. The made-to-break and throw out items that are mass produced are made that way to get you to continue to buy - spending a lot more money in the long run.

Support your neighbor & fellow human by investing in handmade. Keep artists working.
