Like many I know and respect, I’ve been quieter on this platform lately because I’ve deeply needed to tend to real life things, including honoring my own capacity. Life has been rich this year- and also -deeply shattering, deeply moving, deeply life affirming.
I’ve been shifting my relationship with myself, my work, my relationships - and also intentionally crafting my vision, in cahoots with mystery. I will share more about this as we get deeper into the winter, but I’m watching the fruits of some of these pieces bear fruit.

This past Spring I opened my sanctuary, my studio up to two magnificent humans whom you’ve heard me talk about. Muse & Chord and Rowan + Oak Candle and Craft
I also opened up parts of my heart, found new insecurities and also new confidence - but more than that, a greater commitment towards being a guide (while staying humble always and continuing to learn from my students)

I love bringing people together. I love creating containers. I love uplifting others. I love working with my hands and sharing aspects of my life that I’ve been cultivating since I was a teenager with those who are deeply hungry for it.

I’m delighted to have birthed The Broommakers Path and Earthfolk Craft Mentorships into being and I intend to keep offering them and tending them for some years to come.

In so many ways I feel I am breathing deeply into my body and settling into my own form in ways that I never have. I know this comes with gathering more years, with witnessing children grow up, with letting go of relationships and surrendering into a new phase of life. It feels like a deep exhale.

My work is shaped by those that I serve. I truly want to make a meaningful impact on your life if you come to one of my classes.
Please know that. If you desire to be in one of these containers next year, please take some time to put your name on the waitlist for the mentorship programs and also answer the few prompts and questions on the forms - they are there to gather real information about what you truly want so I can shape them with you in mind.

This class with Callan Shore was so incredibly uplifting, inspiring, connective. ALL of the pairs of women made fire!!!
To be in such a supportive community, tuning in with our nervous systems to allow us to really drop in to our bodies and connect with the rhythm of the bow, the pressure, the connection to our core, the connection to fire- it was a timeless moment.
And every time a sister’s bundle burst into flame we cheered. We celebrated. We uplifted each other.
This feels like the essence of what was created at Women’s Rewilding retreat. Women supporting women to step into their POWER. To witness each other in our own authenticity- because we all do it differently, and that’s just as it should be.

My one day classes are dwindling down for the year as the Broommakers Path and Earthfolk Craft mentorships begin in the Fall.

If you’ve been wanting to make a broom with me, this is a lovely opportunity to gather in a beautiful space and spend a focused and intentional afternoon working with your hands in good company!
And as a bonus, you can check out the gallery exhibit downstairs at the arts council, “Holding Together” - curated by Amber M. Jensen

My week at Penland was phenomenal.
I’m inspired. At peace. Seeing through a different lens. Excited. Tired. Hopeful. Connected. Expanded.
Clear.
I have a new perspective on art. on craft. on nature. on vulnerability. on the threads that connect us. on how making connects us. On the deeply personal nature of creativity and how it’s a language all its own.
On the importance of why I do what I do.
To be a student, to be held in a container by someone else. To watch the intimacy of a group of strangers deepen and soften.
Creativity is our BIRTHright. To give birth is to bring creation in. Creation is a dance with mystery….

I want other makers, other creators, other teachers to get to experience the joy of receiving this.
If you are an artist, a craftsperson, a teacher, or a mother - I encourage you to reach out to me if you want to join the Earthfolk Craft Mentorship. I want to offer $1000 off tuition for someone who needs this. Who wants to feel inspired again. Who wants to be a student. Who wants to feel held instead of holding others. Who wants to expand their work and their creative practice.

Send me a DM or comment “mystery” and I’ll reach out.

OH, and I can’t wait to make more books!!!! And to understand enough about the process to offer it to (small groups at first) my students.

More to come…..

Shoutout to Lissa Flora Asheville
She invited me to come out and teach her staff how to make brooms yesterday - as part of a beautiful and thoughtfully planned afternoon for her team. She is a woman with a heart of gold and a deep appreciation for beauty.
I felt so inspired by her care and the love she put into creating such a special experience.
It’s always such an honor to be invited into spaces like this - I’m so very grateful that my work allows for me to dance in other peoples visions!

We really do need each other to create the world that we all wish to live in. And that’s going to take each of us getting out of our own way and choosing to live life honestly, to embrace the truth of who we are, and to lean in to community and creation.

Crafting brings us so deeply into the present moment.
Thank you to this lovely group of humans for spending the day with me. For carving out the time to slow down and work with your hands!
My next sweeper broom class will be in Maine in October.
And then I will be offering these classes as part of the Eathfolk Craft mentorship and the Broommakers Path mentorship.
We will go deep into the skills and with each other.
