Guy Lafleur is widely considered one of the greatest hockey players ever, and there are several clear reasons why he stood out as the best during his era:

Lafleur was an offensive powerhouse with the Montreal Canadiens. He was the first player in NHL history to score 50 goals and 100 points in 6 straight seasons. He finished with 518 goals and 1,353 points.

He wasn’t just great in the regular season - he delivered when it mattered most. He won 5 Stanley Cups (1973, 1976–1979), and he was known for clutch goals and standout performances in high-pressure games.
