It’s chilly this morning… but will it warm up later? Who knows! 😂

September weather can be anything, so honestly? Grab a sweatshirt and call it good.

Here are a few fun options currently hanging out at Bloom — and the sweater rack is PACKED. I’ve got lots of cozy new stuff coming out, too.

I took yesterday off for some much-needed end-of-summer family time, so I’m back at it this weekend and getting the shop filled back up. 🫶

Come see what’s new!

Last week was SO GOOD. 🥹💚 It was incredible seeing so many of you in the shop, and thank you endlessly for shopping small AND supporting the fundraiser. It means more than you know. 🫶

This week is a little different because we have family coming into town, and we’re going to take some time to be together. 💚

So, don’t be too grouchy with me 😂 — Bloom will be closed this Friday for some much-needed family fun time!

✨ Saturday: 11–6
✨ Sunday: 11–5

See you this weekend! 🛍️🌿

I bought a $30 shirt from a local artist. You turned it into an $860 donation to Project Relief Maine in two days.

That’s not me — that’s you. That’s what this community does when someone opens a door and says “wanna help?”

Congratulations to our winner, Sarah Morelli 🎉

And here’s the thing: I’ve got a platform and customers who give a damn. If you’ve got something you’d love to donate or purchase for a fundraiser through Bloom — reach out. I’m so happy to collaborate. Let’s keep this going.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. 💐

This family is one of many reasons we're running a quick raffle right now.

Let's be clear about something, because a lot of people with loud opinions about immigration have never been near the actual process. I have. Seeking asylum is legal. Showing up to your ICE check-in, like this father is doing tomorrow, is the process. There is no such thing as an illegal person. These are families trying to make their lives safer and better, and they make our communities safer and better too. That's it. That's the whole story.

Two ways to help:

→ Donate directly to Project Relief (link in their bio)
→ Donate through us by 5pm today and get an entry to win a locally designed ice fishing tee. See our previous post for details.

The need is enormous. Please.

ENTRIES CLOSE AT 5pm TODAY! LET’S END THIS FUNDRAISER STRONG! 💪 🤝 ❤️

One little shirt. Big difference. 🎣

Last chance to enter the Ice Fishing shirt giveaway **accepting entries until 5pm Sunday 8/30**— designed and printed by Abe Tensia , my neighbor at Dana Warp Mill and one of my favorite artists on the planet. 100% cotton, unisex XL (fits like a ‘men’s’ XL // ‘women’s’ XXL). Comfy, clever, beautiful.

Every dollar goes to Project Relief Maine, and here’s what that money does:

When someone is detained by ICE, they need an actual lawyer — which costs real money most families don’t have. Project Relief pays for those lawyers so people who’ve been unfairly detained have a fighting chance at getting home.

They also support the families left behind — groceries, housing, basics — and the people too scared or too at-risk to leave the house at all.

Black immigrant-led, no institutional backing, no big donors. Immigrants helping immigrants, funded by friends and neighbors. It’s rapid-response work happening right here in Maine, and what they need is money.

How to enter:
💸 $10 per entry → Venmo @ Lillyvanders , or cash entry in store
💸 $50+ gets a bonus entry for every $50 ($100 = 12 entries)
🏆 Winner announced tomorrow

I woke up to a Venmo full of entries. I see you. We’ve got today and tomorrow — let’s watch this grow.

Shirt not for you? Skip me and give straight to Project Relief Maine. That’s the whole point.

When I bought this shirt, part of the proceeds went to Maine Solidarity Fund — thank you, Abe Tensia , for building that in. Passing it forward. 💛

You’ve probably seen me in this Abolish ICE ringer a lot lately. I bought an extra from a favorite artist of mine and mill neighbor, Abe Tensia for a giveaway “at some point.” The point is now. The need is right now. Bloom community, rally with me: this shirt, this weekend, every dollar to Project Relief.

Our neighbors are being abducted. Off the street, outside courthouses, on the way to work with their kids in the car. Kids are coming home to empty apartments. People are sent to detention camps without medication, without care, without anyone knowing where they are. If nobody is advocating for you in there, you get lost in the system. People are disappearing into it.

A lawyer is the difference between a ‘fair’ shot and no shot, and lawyers cost thousands. A family that just lost its only paycheck doesn’t have thousands.

Project Relief does this work. A Black immigrant-led mutual aid collective on the ground in Maine since 2019 — paying for lawyers, posting bail, covering rent and groceries for the families left behind, showing up at raids, getting information out to the rest of us. So much of it is behind the scenes, and it is exhausting. Immigrants helping immigrants. We’re the neighbors who can chip in.

THIS WEEKEND ONLY:
🔸 $10 = 1 entry, no limit. $50+ gets a bonus entry.
🔸 Venmo @ Lillyvanders , note “SHIRT,” or cash at the shop this weekend
🔸 Drawing Sunday night in stories
🔸 Every cent goes to Project Relief. I’ll post the receipt.

Unisex XL — fits like a men’s XL / women’s XXL. Artist is currently sold out of this size.

We’re a small shop, not a big fundraiser. But everything helps. Rather give directly? DM me for the link or find it in Project Relief Maine bio.

Share this far and wide. That’s the other thing you can do.
