Work partied this weekend at Russell Ridge (just west of wildcat/soup creek area for those not familiar.) Friday and Sunday, July 17th and July 19th.

There’s two Russell Ridge work parties coming up on July 17th and 19th. Looks like bikers need to find a different place to ride this weekend, we recommend Terrace Heights or Konnawac Pass, both have hero dirt right now and can use you tires. Actual, Cowiche really could use the tires too, as hikers and dogs that chose to ignore closure signs made a mess out of the trail surface. Actually some good moisture and some bike tires to buff it out wouldn't be the worst idea, but that's not my area of expertise.

As a general rule, ride through puddles, not around them. If your tires are marking the trail deeper than the depth of their tread get off and walk.

TRAIL NOTE!: Today (Friday, 3/13) through the weekend (until Monday, 3/16), we are CLOSING Cowiche Canyon Uplands to BIKES.

We rarely close trails for one use type. But heavy rains and mud have made trails extremely exposed to rutting and erosion.

If you'd like to experience Cowiche Canyon Uplands trails, PLEASE go on foot. And please walk right through puddles or mud to avoid widening trails and trampling wildflowers (they're out and vulnerable!).🌸

With warmer weather and sun on the way, trails should dry quickly. We expect to be able to fully re-open the Uplands on Monday, 3/16.

TRAIL NOTE!! Today (March 5) we're excited to OPEN Cowiche Canyon Uplands and Snow Mountain Ranch trailheads. Trails are mostly dry and in good shape!

There ARE still patches of mud and some BIG puddles in the Uplands. Please do your best to walk or roll right through them (be brave!) to avoid widening trails and trampling plants. BTW, some early wildflowers are out!

Happy birthday to our hardest worker, Stache. It takes so much dedication to sleep on the couch all day and still manage to bark at everyone who enters the store. Few have the multi tasking skills to pull it off. We couldn't do it without him.

TRAIL NOTE (12/19/25)!!
We're sorry to report that today we're CLOSING the Cowiche Canyon Uplands trailhead and trails until further notice. While there's still some snow cover, many trails are severely muddy and getting worse as more snow melts. Please respect trail closures -- they're for the long-term health of the trail system.

We're checking on other trails today. Currently trailheads that remain open are: Cowiche Canyon (east and west), Snow Mountain Ranch, and Konnowac Pass
